Orange Shadow
DESCRIPTION
The photograph features an orange wall as the main surface, crossed by the shadow of a palm tree trunk. Behind it, occupying slightly more than a third of the frame, the green palm leaves and the blue sky are visible. The contrast of colors and the interaction between light, shadow, and form create a balanced and minimalist composition. The shadow introduces an element that breaks the uniformity of the flat surface, while the leaves add texture and a natural touch.
The image invites the viewer to observe how everyday elements—architecture, vegetation, and light—can combine to create a visually harmonious and poetic moment. The simplicity of the scene enhances the impact of color and geometry, allowing light and shadow to define the character of the photograph.
AUTHOR
I am a photographer based in Barcelona, running a studio specialized in product, architecture, and advertising photography. This technical foundation shapes the way I see and is also reflected in my personal work, where I explore a minimalist aesthetic, paying close attention to light and composition as essential languages of the image. In 2011, I co-founded Nostàlgic, a space dedicated to analog photography and visual creation, which has become a meeting point for those who value slow processes and experimentation with the photographic image.
I hold a degree in Photography and Digital Creation from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Photojournalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and I have furthered my studies at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York.
