Bhaskar Sitholey is a filmmaker who balances a corporate media career with a passion for photography. His journey into photography began in 2002 while filming a rafting expedition, where the colour transparencies he shot as production stills weren't just images, but a revelation that ignited his lifelong passion for the art form. While his career initially focused on filmmaking, producing award-winning documentaries, ad films, and reality shows for national and international clients, photography remained a constant fascination. Bhaskar's creative work extends to executive producing content, including documentaries for National Geographic. His expertise also spans advertising, contributing his creative vision to various campaigns. In 2018, he returned to photography with renewed purpose, seeking to explore its artistic depths. Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board commissioned him to photograph Pithoragarh's rugged beauty and undertook a photo story for Ladakh Tourism, showcasing Winters in Ladakh.
Bhaskar is increasingly exploring the nuanced realm of fine art, focusing on people, habitats, and experiences. Through his photography, he aims to convey unique stories through experimental methods, capturing fleeting moments in evocative, timeless art that spans diverse genres. Bhaskar's last photography project explores the effects of nyctophobia, or fear of darkness, on the human psyche.
