Thomas' life as a photographer spans the arc from analogue photography with his own development laboratory in his youth to digital art photography. He is a self-taught photographer, but also frequently takes photographs with others, typically on international travels. He is Vice President of the Schleswig Photo Club.

Thomas' wife, a paintress, and he are running "Suedereiche.Art", an atelier and place for a joint collaboration of the two. Based on the concept "Painting and Photography: a Dialogue" they are exhibiting since more than 5 years works, that portrait the same subject.
