The Castillitos Battery
DESCRIPTION
The sun's rays pierce the overcast sky above Cabo Tiñoso (Cartagena), reflecting off the sea in front of the dormant cannons of the Castillitos Battery.The Castillitos Battery is a coastal artillery fortification declared a Site of Cultural Interest. It was built and equipped with Vickers-Armstrong cannons between 1933 and 1936, powerful enough to fire a shell weighing almost a ton a distance of 35 kilometers.
