The Painted Andes
DESCRIPTION
The Palcoyo Rainbow Mountains, in the high Andes of Peru, reveal the earth’s history in color. Formed by mineral deposits over millions of years, their layers of red, blue, and yellow unfold like brushstrokes across the mountainside. This photograph captures the natural geometry and subtle gradients that make Palcoyo a quieter, yet equally mesmerizing counterpart to the more famous Vinicunca. AUTHOR
"In photography, I always take the time to rush everything."That phrase sums up my approach to photography: present, intuitive, and always chasing the moment before it disappears. I'm the eye behind Panoramania.ch, where panoramic landscapes, travel, adventure, wildlife, and infrared photography come together to tell stories of raw beauty and fleeting light.
From alpine ridges to distant coastlines, I seek out places where nature speaks loudest—often at the edges of comfort, in early dawns or late dusks, where the world still feels untouched. Infrared photography, in particular, lets me reimagine the familiar and see landscapes in an entirely new light—literally.
My work is about motion and stillness, discovery and reflection. Whether it's a frozen second of wildlife or a sweeping 180° mountaintop view, every shot is a way to hold onto wonder just a little longer.
