Flower Portraits Blue Iris
DESCRIPTION
This photo is part of my flower series, an instinctive work, made with natural light and no artifice. I photographed this blue iris by getting as close as possible, until the contours started to disappear. It’s no longer just a flower we see, but a sensation: light sliding along a vein, shadow settling into a fold, blur becoming substance.I like working at that tipping point between reality and abstraction. What interests me isn’t showing a flower, but creating an image that evokes something more internal. Here, I wanted to capture a kind of luminous fragility, almost suspended in darkness. The iris becomes like a fading memory, or a dream just beginning to take shape.
AUTHOR
Hi, I am Stéphane. My photographic approach is above all based on feelings. I am drawn to moments, details that express my current state of mind. Every detail of light, shapes, composition and texture has its importance in my images. I need to feel the photography, to immerse myself in it until I approach abstraction to invite the observer to question his relationship to oneself and to the world.@stephgarnav
