Gold Beach Port 01
Juliet Nicole Haas, United States
Gold Beach Port 01
DESCRIPTION
Gold Beach is a sleepy southern Oregon coast salmon fishing and river rafting tourist town on the mouth of the Rogue River with a year round population of about 2,500 permanent residents. I have been going there with my family since the ninth grade and have lived there off and on since they relocated there permanently in 1987. After all these years I have only recently begun to seek out a subject to photograph. I have always considered Gold Beach to be the most beautiful and depressing place on the planet to be stuck.
AUTHOR
The path between familiar and unknown opens us to the infinite possibilities of our imaginations. I am endlessly fascinated by all things abandoned and left behind and I travel far and wide to capture that spirit.

Juliet Haas (b. Oakland, CA) is a Sacramento based fine art landscape and environmental portrait photographer. She Curates photography exhibitions in Sacramento and online and is the producer and curator for Open Show Sacramento. In 2017 she founded the critique group PHOTO Sacto. Drawn to solitude and detritus, shape, light and darkness, dramatic weather and cinematic landscape, Juliet’s imagery focuses on finding beauty in the mundane, abandoned structures and objects that go mostly unnoticed.

Juliet's work has been exhibited in galleries across US and online: A Smith Gallery, Black Box Gallery, The Center for Photographic Art, Clamp Art, Foley Gallery, Griffin Museum of Photography, Groundworks Indie Garage - MOPLA, The Julia Dean Gallery, LA Art Show, LENSCRATCH, Los Angeles Center of Photography, PACE Center Gallery, Photo Independent Art Fair with Fabrik Projects, Photo LA, Sparrow Gallery Sacramento, SE Center for Photography, SXSE Gallery, Viewpoint Gallery Sacramento, Terra Bella Media, and YourDailyPhotograph.com.
