Honorable Mention
Babysitters
DESCRIPTION
Portrait of Hmong babysitters - from project "Kinh Wave: the introduction". The project aims to portrait the ethnic people in Sa Pa and Sa Pa itself under the effects of tourism and urban development. Like a coin, everything in this world has its flipside, so are development and civilisation. At the end, the only thing that matters is our respect to the nature and to our own kind. AUTHOR
Born and raised in Vietnam, I’ve received most of my photographic education in Australia. Now I am a photographer, specialising in portraiture and documentary based in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
I see myself as an artist to preserve and tell visual stories about people and living.
With a strong belief in the true meaning of documentary photography, I respect the truth and seek to capture it in its untouched state
In portraiture, I prefer to obtain the highest level of control possible, from outlook to soul expression. The final results clearly reflect my interpretation of the subject.
Besides photography, I love reading books, traveling, watching movies, playing music and practising martial arts.
