Dreaming of Sea Ice
DESCRIPTION
In the fjords of eastern Spitsbergen, the male Polar Bear is in deep sleep after a big meal.Sleeping on the floating sea ice, with the surroundings of Svalbard, he is feeling safe. But, as sea ice melts sooner and sooner every year, this is one of the last ice to be found in hundreds of miles, even though it's still early in the season. Polar Bears rely on sea ice to hunt, and without it they face an ever growing threat on their survival.
Sadly, scientist predict that polar bears will become extinct by the end of this century.
