Honorable Mention
Wrestlers
DESCRIPTION
Young ground squirrels wrestle in the dust. These small mammals are extremely social; however, conflicts are not always resolved in the most amicable way. The image was taken in an area where ground squirrels disappeared 30 years ago, but due to a successful habitat reconstruction and repopulation project led by the Kiskunsag National Park a stable population can be found again.
