Mediaeval Abstraction
DESCRIPTION
The picture was made at the Teutonic Knights’ Castle in Malbork, Poland. A tiny fragment of a diamond vault was symmetrically transformed in two planes creating an abstract composition of profound depth. It is difficult to discern, at the first glance, how the original photo looked like. Who was the creator of this graphic linear abstraction: a mediaeval architect or a contemporary photographer?
