Oblivion
DESCRIPTION
This photograph is part of a project called Oblivion that wants to tell the story of a girl too young to leave her childhood and forced to become what she doesn't yet feel ready to be, a woman. In particular in this photo, it shows the attachment towards the mother that as if she were a newborn baby, she breastfeeds her, aware of the detachment she will have to undergo. The woman lets herself go completely into his arms as dying. The whole setting is intimate, in the bedroom interiors, the white dress that will represent the pure and white woman can be seen in the foreground, like a baptismal or communion dress. I tried to reproduce the scene as a frame of a film, taking up the technique of Stage Photography at Gregory Crewdson, in which what you look at oscillates between a thin line of real and dreamlike world. The shot was taken with a Canon 6D mark II, 18-105 Canon L series lens, fixed continuous light spotlights.
AUTHOR
My name is Serena Taverna. I am 26 years old and I live in Sicily. I graduated from the academy of fine arts in photography. I love to think of a photograph in my mind and then be able to make it. For me, photography is a discipline, you have to practice a lot and keep your mind open. I have made several photographic projects and I feel I am very attached to staged photography as I am passionate about cinema and theater.
