Honorable Mention
Suri Boy, Omo Valley, Ethiopia
DESCRIPTION
Visiting a remote Suri tribe with our guide and driver, we hired two Park Rangers to accompany us. One of the Park Rangers was from the village that we visited. This photo is of the son of the Park Ranger. He did not know his father was coming to visit and had prepared himself for a day long walk to the campsite where his father lived. He is covered in a mixture of ash, sand and cow manure to protect his skin when walking through the dry brush. We ended up taking him back to the campsite in our 4X4. He was nervous in the 4X4, as it was the first time he had ever been in a vehicle. AUTHOR
