Belt Wreath
DESCRIPTION
Belt Wreath is part of a series called Untitled Color Memoir that is an exploration of how color can help transform memories through a series of objects. Negative events, situations and experiences from my childhood were used to channel into creating home décor objects. These pieces then embody those experiences, which were then painted over to help bring out positive reactions and documented in the childhood home in which they happened. The emotional associations of the standard colors of the objects used were then transformed with the juxtaposition of bright colors. AUTHOR
Fabiola Bedoya uses mixed media and color to create juxtapositions that aredocumented with photography. Her obsession with color came at a young age where
her childhood trauma caused her to hold onto the colors of her Mexican background
and childhood influences. The interest has been carried into her studies in interior design, nail technology and photography. Studying these fields has sparked an interest in color psychology. In
her present life she uses color as a means to create new realities by painting over
objects.
