When two mountains meet
DESCRIPTION
Some places have a soul, an extra spark. After meandering up the mountain road, leaving the dramatic valley of Rjukan below, the plateau unfolds with Gaustatoppen rising above. The "Gausta in Seasons" project has documented this world-class mountain Norwegian destination from December 2019 to September 2020.
Following several days of hard rain, a sunny autumn day brought me to Djupetjønn lake. After one hour of hiking uphill, I finally arrived at this beautiful natural spot. It was not my first time there since I have been exploring the surrounding mountains, almost daily, for ten months. The weather conditions were optimal that afternoon: no wind, warm sunny light.
This panoramic view of the lake was composed by having in mind the symmetry and harmony of the natural elements: rocky mountains covered by lichen, autumnal flora, and a pristine lake reflecting a clear sky.
AUTHOR
I’m a French-Peruvian photographer based in Norway. Nature, urban life, and live music are among the topics that inspired me the most.Being always amazed by the beauty of nature and cultural heritage, I got involved in photography while documenting ecotourism experiences on the north coast of Peru in 2006. For my last project, GAUSTA IN SEASONS, I spent almost ten months (from December 2019 to September 2020) exploring this world-class mountain Norwegian destination.
Nowadays, I’m working on another nature-landscape-oriented project in Bergen.
