Flow of the Seasons
DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken at the peak of autumn while on a beautiful morning hike in Hamilton, Ontario. If there is one thing that I’ve learned from quarantine, it’s that I’ve really been missing out on all the beautiful places there are to see close to home. However, travel restrictions this year have pushed me to find new and exciting places to explore, and this photo is just one of them. For starters, autumn has always been one of my favourite times of the year, especially for photography. This photo was taken along a riverside hike to Webster Falls in Hamilton, where we were engulfed by the fall colours the entire way. To make it even better, we had the entire trail for ourselves. There were so many beautiful spots like this but this one especially caught my eye. The small U-shaped waterfall drew me down to the river before eventually leading my sight far beyond into the misty background full of wonder. I sat there to myself in awe before finally setting up my tripod to take this shot. I threw my 20mm prime onto my camera, bumped down the shutter speed and snapped this photo of the gentle stream and the burst of colours that surrounded it. I hope you are just as satisfied with the result as I am and are encouraged by this photo to explore more areas close to home. You just might be amazed at what’s around the corner. AUTHOR
For as long as I can remember, I have used art as a means of expression. Even when I was a kid, I spent the majority of my time drawing what was in my head or documenting things that I would see. I think it’s pretty safe to say that after all these years, not much has changed. To this day, my creativity continues to drive me, only now I express myself most passionately through a lens. Yes, I am a photographer, but I am also much more than that. I am a dreamer, with a vision of creating an impact on this world through my craft.
