DESCRIPTION
That’s the result of a studio shoot mixed with 3D Elements; quite a new world to work on a composite project from the beginning to the end. I placed a 3 point lighting setup with 2 flashes (Godox AD600BM) and stripboxes with grids on the sides for the edges, and a third flash (Godox AD200) with a beauty dish on the top. There are actually 2 pairs of tights over each other to make the legs even longer than the wide angle does. The spikes were done out of paper and Ducttape. And this was shot with a canon 5D mark IV and a Canon EF 16-35mm at 16 mm F7.1, ISO 100, 1/160s. The background is a 3D model and all the shadows and reflections were done in photoshop. AUTHOR
My name is Thomas, also known as “Wohl Photography”. I'm a french photographer based in Berlin, Germany. My path into the visual arts began about 15 years ago, with graphic design; making flyers and posters mostly for music events. My graphical vision was based on a digital way to use real photos. I also worked on 3D modeling and vectors and never thought about photography as a individual way to express myself.
In 2017, was the first time I got my hands on a DSLR camera. I worked on architecture and symmetrical photography. Later, I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop about nude photography I came in contact with models. At this point, I asked a good friend of mine, who is a professional dancer, if she would like to shoot with me. That was the starting point of everything I do now. I met other dancers and developed more artistic and defined concepts. This expanded to the opportunity to work with circus artists like Stefanie Millinger in Austria, as well as artists from the Cirque du Soleil and dancers from the Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin.
I work a lot on the picture composition, sometimes doing everything in camera and sometimes mixing with post production. I pay attention to the movement, freezing an action in time, all to make the viewer feel involved in a crazy situation or to simply create a graphical or emotional effect. Nowadays, there is a whole Team behind my projects (lighting, accessories, assistants, lost place experts) and we try to realize always more cinematic pictures which represent impossible scenes. There are big projects coming along this year and I will try to push the boundaries even more in order to create a unique content.
