Alien Worlds
DESCRIPTION
An underwater series capturing Indonesia’s millennia-old marine lakes teaming with millions of golden jellyfish. Thousands of years ago, the seabed was uplifted forming marine lakes completely cut off from the surrounding ocean. Over time, rain diluted the saltwater, providing a unique ecosystem for marine life to evolve. Without natural predators, jellyfish multiplied in their millions over generations and lost their stinging cells.
This image blends the freedom of movement, expression, and alienation of the 21st century with the compositional order and balance of the past. A reflection of our world today as humankind evolves from traditional values.
