Honorable Mention
Star trails, Aurora and Methane bubbles
DESCRIPTION
I had been back and forth to this spot 10 times before I was able to capture this photo. Abraham lake is 1.5 hours away one way from where I live. Between the weather, condition of the ice, location of the right methane bubbles and other various factors, this photo took a lot of vision, planning, trial and error. I’ve pretty much seen Abraham Lake on any possible scenario. That night I saw the forecast of the aurora was promising. So I packed my bag and start driving after my shift. As soon as I got there my car got stuck on thick soft snow. So I took my camera find a composition that I like and let it shoot for an hour while trying to get my car out. Unfortunately I didn't get strong aurora glow. but there's small subtle glow by the horizon next to the base of the mountain.
