This picture is supposed to put a victim of our daily dietary and clothing habits in the spotlight. We are used to our meat, our milk and our eggs, that we usually do not think about the ones who suffer for it. This circumstance comes in handy for the big industry which coordinates the production of our loved products and slaughters roughly around 150 billion animals annually for our consumption. We've collectively learned to make a difference between our pets and the animals we like to eat. Only because we decided that the ones who we consider to be tasty are less sentient and smart compared to our beloved dogs and cats.
