Honorable Mention
ocean goddess
DESCRIPTION
This work is part of a series "Portraits of Goddesses" in which I bring to life the dreamlike characters that populate my imagination. I create for each Goddess a headdress and makeup that gives her her unique character.I made the headdress from shells collected on a beach in Brittany 1 year ago. The shells have been glued to scraps of entwined electric cables so that the whole looks like tentacles. The wicks are made of wool, I added wooden beads of different sizes, skewers and copper wire.
Make-up made from special bodypainting paint.
I think Man can only find freedom in his mind, freedom in the real world is just an illusion (from the moment we are subject to the limits of a physical body we are not free , not to mention the limits that any life in society necessarily imposes. Imprisonment can be caused by the gaze of others, of our loved ones. The need to correspond to the image that society and education impose on us is a straitjacket from which it is difficult to free oneself. I realized that this magical world that I had created with the photo, unconsciously made me free. Imagination is unique to man and its power is powerful. I am someone one of optimist and dreamer and the world that I create in my photos is my freedom and that of the viewer as well.A projection of what I myself wish to become, someone strong and determined who takes his future in hand.
AUTHOR
I have been a professional photographer for 3 years, specializing in artistic portraits in which I design all the elements of the photo. At the same time I am a teacher but I would like to further develop my photographic activity to devote myself to it full time in the future.
