Dance of the Mustangs
DESCRIPTIONThis image of a herd of 150+ wild mustangs was captured at sunset during late Spring in the west desert of Utah. Over the course of seven individual trips to find and photograph these majestic animals, I've managed to capture intimate portraits, play sessions, and funny horse faces with my time among them. It was only the seventh trip that we managed to track this stampeding herd roaming across the plains. After looking for nearly 3 hours, the rumbling herd made itself known by a thick cloud of desert dust which followed them for the next hour or so as we tracked their movements well into dusk. It was one of most adrenaline-inducing, magical experiences of my life.

I make imagery out of the rugged western landscapes that I call home to inspire people to fall in love with the natural world around them. whether it’s a client project or a personal one, i’ll be outdoors in the mud and grit making images, and there’s no where else i’d rather be.
