It is one of my favorite pieces. I got emotional while finishing up the edit because the amount of love coming through overwhelmed me. Alexa is a firefighter & she gives so much of herself to the community & to those she loves. To me, I felt she looks incredibly innocent like a sleeping child with her best friend, content, safe in the moment with her protector. That innocence, that feeling of peace, and the feeling that time has stopped in this photograph hit me deeply, as I know what it is like to love such a beautifully pure creature on this level. It is the first piece to truly make me cry from the love pouring out of it.
